Listen to Sleep

As The New York Times put it recently, “Sleep is the new bottled water” – free, but packaged as a luxury.

From a full seven/eight-hour sleep everyday to a five-hour (at most) sleep every Monday to Friday and make it eight on the weekend. My sleep habit has changed after graduated from high schools.

After watching a video of TED-ed below, I recently made a small research about sleep and these made me aware of how important sleep is.

As A Generalist

Been a very very very long time since my last post.

My current job requires me to work for more than usual working hour. The nine-to-five office day is like a dream. But, I learnt a lot from my current working hour. Work-life balance. I recently make a research of life hacks for a kind of job I have at my age now – 22 years old – and work-life balance is just one of the things. Here is what I found based on articles I read and my own experience:

SUNDAY POST: Throwback to Lombok’s Halcyon Days

Jul 14 – Aug 29, 2014.

Along that time span, I felt truly no burden in Lombok.

Lombok is an Indonesian island east of Bali and west of Sumbawa known for picturesque beaches and prime surf. The motor-vehicle-free Gili Islands (Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, and Gili Meno), off Lombok’s west coast, offer more beaches, reefs for diving and snorkeling, and a sea turtle hatchery. Here are some beautiful pictures of Lombok during my almost-2-month stay. Continue reading

Start-up Business Alert

Jakarta Gojek App Startup Business

I started today by reading everybody’s comment on my social media timeline about the ban of app-based transportation by the government. Today’s headline.

In fact, an Indonesian online application to order an Ojek (two-wheeled taxi), Go-Jek, has just been introduced in Silicon Valley less than 2 weeks ago. Blew my mind.

It’s a result of the online shopping trend, growing significantly for last few years. To order a taxi or book an airline ticket. Continue reading

Graduation is More than Having Graduated #1

“Sometimes you find out what you are supposed to be doing by doing the things you are not supposed to do.” – Oprah Winfrey to Howard University, 2007

Leaving university. What’s next?

Less than a month ago, I received my diploma at the university commencement day. Best day of my life? May be. I graduated 3 months before the commencement. And I was stuck in 3 things along that period: Continue reading

Looking for “the Fit”?

Hello again. It’s been a busy week and I posted nothing on this blog.

Wearing your best outfit can be a usual thing to do when you’re going to attend a party or a formal event. Get your outfit done by a tailor might be nice (and expensive, of course) because you will have your own design, your own color, and your own size. The size. It can be a problem when you have a “special” body size and you don’t have enough money to have your shirts or suits or dresses done by a tailor. Especially for Indonesians who want to buy international-branded clothes. Continue reading
